adidas Consortium asked us to capture the heart and soul of a grassroot music community for Notting Hill carnival, in a special collaboration with Footpatrol, partnering together to create a film and experiential moment that celebrates and platforms heritage and local identity.

We commissioned filmmaking creative collective 33Bound to make a documentary short telling the story of The Ebony Steel Band who have played at the heart of Notting Hill Carnival for 50 years, following the band's journey from rehearsals to carnival, discovering the power of community along the way.

The partnership between Dazed, adidas Consortium and Footpatrol aimed to highlight the creativity of grassroot organisations and inspire new generations by learning about the positive community influence and heritage of Ebony.

To launch the collaboration, we held a screening and live performance at London’s Yard Theatre, celebrating the night with Wray and Nephew rum cocktails, food by Mamas Jerk and DJ sets by Hipsters Don’t Dance, Touching Bass’ Errol Anderson, and Lil C.
