We commissioned filmmaking creative collective 33Bound to make a documentary short telling the story of The Ebony Steel Band who have played at the heart of Notting Hill Carnival for 50 years. We followed the band's journey from rehearsals to carnival, discovering the power of community along the way.
The partnership between Dazed, adidas Consortium and Footpatrol set out to support the group and future generations. Ebony was launched by Dazed and, to celebrate the collaboration, we held a screening at London’s Yard Theatre complete with Wray and Nephew rum cocktails, food by Mamas Jerk and DJ sets by Hipsters Don’t Dance, Touching Bass’ Errol Anderson, and Lil C.
